I was updating to Windows 11 yesterday, it was running at 98% but it took too long and I had to rest. I powered off my PC by choosing Shut Down.
Now I restart and it starts with a black screen showing just one line in the top left.
Pressing the power button to shut down doesn't help.
What's going on?

Place your install media. Navigate to the advanced settings and remove all partitions to unallocated space, then begin the process once more.

The update from Windows 10 to 11 via the installer doesn't affect your existing files.

Yes, it does. Did you save those files? Without expert help, they are probably lost now. If you have a caddy or enclosure, you might fit the drive into another PC and check its contents. This could be blocked by permission settings because it was the operating system of another machine.

Looks like restarting twice fixed everything on my PC! I'll keep an eye out for any issues.
