turbo boost on all the time
I own an older I7 2630 (in a Dell) with a standard rating of 2k and a maximum of 2.8. It has begun running at full turbo (2.8 to 2.9) continuously, even under minimal load, and it’s heating up to around 70 degrees C. Anyone know what’s going on? Will this damage the processor?
Not a big supporter, but it generally works fine. You might want to verify with Malwarebytes, though I’m skeptical they’ll find anything new. This antivirus could very well be the issue, so I strongly recommend using a genuine paid antivirus program.

Hi.
Thank you for reaching out.
I used malwarebytes and it detected numerous "Potential unwanted programs," but after quarantining them, the problem still persisted. After 12 to 15 hours—during which there were many reboots—the computer appears to have stabilized. It might have been a strange internal operation, or (hopefully) the malware has completed its actions.
Either way.
Best regards,
Dave
