I'm preparing a build and simplifying it to motherboard basics. You'll need an ASUS B550 Strix Plus with WiFi 2, paired with an ASUS TUF B550 Plus WiFi II, both supporting AM4 sockets. The setup should include an AMD B550 chipset, USB-C Gen2 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, PCIe 4.0 support, WiFi 6, BIOS Flashback, and addressable RGB header.

The Strix offers excellent value for its performance. Personally, I think the Rog looks more appealing. Choose the Rog instead.

I’ll choose the more affordable option, but it depends on whether both models meet your needs. If they do, it doesn’t matter—just pick the one that appeals to you or saves some cash.

I recommend choosing the rog strix—it appears more appealing and offers stronger passive cooling. You might also find a VRM tier list online.

Hmm? Are you asking about 5800x3d or the AM5 7800X3D? It’s crazy to spend so much on a B550 when it could match the price of a B650 MORI Elite Ax. You might want to upgrade to the newer AM5, or if you can’t afford DDR5, consider getting a 12600K/13500+Z690 or a B660/760. Those options would really hurt the value of the 5800X3D outside gaming. For mobile phones, focus on devices with the I/O you need plus extra features like Wi-Fi, external clock, etc. Also check the VRM quality—some models have weaker ones, but on AM5 it shouldn’t be a big issue.

Huh? The B550 is meant for Ryzen 5000 chips... The 7800X isn’t available, only the 7800X3D exists—super rare when you’re looking to purchase it.

AMD chips will function just like on the same socket chips, since the socket type doesn’t affect performance much
