TSMC creates chips for Apple, but Apple develops its own chip designs and manufactures them using TSMC's facilities. Foxconn does not design chips for Apple.

Apple develops its chips using ARM-based designs, which are produced by TSMC (for instance, the Apple A14 chip). The manufacturing process itself is handled by TSMC.

The questions about 5nm and 7nm designs need clarification. Apple doesn’t directly design these chips, but TSMC manufactures them. AMD also uses 7nm technology, though not exclusively theirs.

No, the "5nm" and "7nm" processes are not owned by TSMC. They are developed by other companies.

the nodes should be located at TSMC according to my understanding. remember, these aren't one unit, there are several "7nm" chips, and many of them are "7nm" units

The "5nm" or "7nm" refers only to the marketing size. That figure doesn't hold any real significance—it mainly indicates whether it's a V6 or V8 engine, but a Toyota/Lexus V8 is distinct from a Ford V8. TSMC's 7nm, GlobalFoundries' 7nm, and Samsung's 7nm all vary in their specifications.
