Hi there! I understand your friend is facing some challenges with his PC and graphics card. He’s using a 3060 Ti with a solid setup—1080p monitors at 240Hz, plus three 1080p 60Hz displays. Despite what the online sources suggest, he’s still dealing with frequent black screens and crashes. When the system is under load, the GPU reaches nearly full capacity, and even turning fans up to 100% didn’t lower the temperatures much. It’s been about two months since this issue started, and it seems to happen mostly during warmer periods.

Update the drivers first, then change the thermal paste on the GPU.

Be mindful of updating the Nvidia drivers, as there are reported problems with the latest versions. To fix my issues, I went back to the driver from August 2024.

Updates were applied and that made sense, I thought it was important. It wasn't about throttling, which is the odd part.

Did the problems arise with a 3060Ti processor? The device your friend owns comes from an HP prebuilt configuration.

You own a 4080 model, yet reports suggest similar problems occur with 3000-series units too.

That makes sense, I haven’t seen anything from 30 series myself, but it looks like he might have fixed it. So far it seems stable, and leaving the side panel off really helps with temperature.
