Hello, I'm searching for a racing game that matches your preferences. It should have realistic graphics and a good selection of vehicles and tracks, without being overly arcade or simulator-style. Recent releases with impressive visuals would be ideal. You mentioned liking variety and variety of settings, so I'm looking for something with diverse options. Multiplayer and single-player modes are important, along with customization features. The game should run smoothly at around 60 FPS on a 144Hz monitor, and it needs to be compatible with Steam. I also noticed grid Auto-sport is available on Steam—would that be a good value?
Assetto Corsa is incredible, it's a bit challenging but very rewarding when you master a corner. It offers a wide range of graphics and a stunning visual experience.
Assetto Corsa was already available on a daily price. Your best chance to get it again is on January 2nd when Steam checks past offers. The game offers various difficulty settings, making it suitable for different preferences. Car and track options need to be added manually through modding. The range isn't extensive, but it's easy to locate.
The absence of racing titles on PC actually led me to try Xbone. I really enjoy the Forza series and there’s nothing comparable on PC, particularly the open-world experiences in Forza Horizon. Project Cars might shift that trend, but aside from the Codys games—which are all excellent—PC offers limited racing content beyond that. If you’re after a single-player driving experience that’s more about fun than racing, Driver San Francisco is a great option.
Grid Autosport and NFS: Shift 2 aren't really mod-friendly, but Shift 2 has some input lag that bothers me, though it works well with a gamepad. I strongly suggest Assetto Corsa—it's more like a full sim than a simcade, but you can enable assist mode and eventually get used to it. You might even find it fun to upgrade your wheels later on. It's also very mod-friendly.
