Hi everyone, seeking some guidance. The current setup is an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 MPG X570 Gaming Plus (MS-7C37) with BIOS A.D2 and AMD AGESA ComboAM4v2PI 1.2.0.2 CMK16GX4M2B3200C16, paired with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970. The system boots normally but shows a fault when trying to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5800X. It triggers a short beep followed by long beeps, and the Windows logo appears occasionally. BIOS isn’t available. I’ve tried swapping RAM and updating the BIOS, but nothing changes. I’m unsure what’s causing the issue since I can’t test another graphics card or additional RAM. I usually boot to Windows without problems, but it fails on post-boot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Remove residual dust from RAM and GPU connectors.

Clean with IPA or contact cleaner. Use one memory slot, a short beep, two long beeps for RAM error. Try the previous BIOS version or non-beta.

Cleaner applied to all slots (RAM and GPU) without issues. Removed 5800x, installed BIOS 7C37vAC (2021-01-26). Full login successful with no problems. Then removed 3600 and installed 5800x again. Issue returns the same. It seems RAM is fine when 3600 is present, but not when 5800x is installed. I verified via CPU-Z – both have 16GB. The problem appears during startup only.

Through more investigation I discovered several points: a major issue with the video system involved a BIOS ROM error or a horizontal retrace failure. It seems to affect only the 5800x model, yet it still boots in about 80% of cases.
