Your machine has started failing unexpectedly. It only occurs during Apex Legends. The screen turns black, the RGB stays active but you're redirected back to the Windows home screen as if you just restarted. The Event Viewer logged a "fatal hardware error." I ran memory tests, the sfc tool scanned, and it hasn’t happened in other games. Using Aida64 to stress each part individually and together showed stability—no overclocking or underclocking. I built the PC myself. After these problems began and I checked everything, I reset it to factory settings and installed a fresh Windows version to rule out that factor. I’m confused about what else could be causing this. I assume a PSU issue might be the culprit, since Apex Legends isn’t more demanding than Aida64. Hardware specs: Ryzen 7 5800Xd, AMD 7700xt, 32GB RAM, MSI B550 graphics card, plus motherboard.
Up until now, this has only occurred in apex, shortly after beginning a game. The temperatures are excellent across all components, and running stress tests in Aida64 doesn’t cause the PC to crash.
I’ll definitely try more games, but I don’t think any of them push the experience as far as AIDA does. Windows viewer still displays the generic kernel power error and the event 1 whea logger reports a "fatal hardware error," though it doesn’t specify which hardware might be involved.
It seems the system is rebooting again. You mentioned it didn’t have this issue with other games before, did it happen with Apex specifically?
