You can try adjusting system settings or using hardware optimization tools to boost performance. Some free methods include updating drivers, managing startup programs, and ensuring adequate cooling. However, modern machines often provide significant gains through software tweaks rather than hardware alone.

You can retain your programs without needing a full reinstall. The games are saved partially on the SATA SSD, so disconnecting it during the process should preserve your data.

Switched case, added more RAM, extra budget for better SSD or slightly improved PSU but I’m not sure. Could skip two M.2 and use a larger one if needed—depends on whether you need extra storage. Storage doesn’t have to be M.2, just the OS and games should live there for performance. PCPartPicker List: CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-core (€104.88 @ Galaxus), Cooler – Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE 66.17 CFM, Motherboard – MSI B550M PRO-VDH Micro ATX AM4 (€89.78 @ Galaxus), RAM – TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 (€54.90 @ Amazon Deutschland), Storage – Western Digital Blue SN580 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD (€55.00 @ Amazon Deutschland), Storage – Western Digital Blue SN580 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD (€55.00 @ Amazon Deutschland), Graphics – PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6600 8 GB (€216.00 @ Mindfactory), Case – KOLINK Unity Meshbay ARGB ATX Mid Tower (€59.90 @ Caseking), Power Supply – MSI MAG A550BN 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified (€54.90 @ Amazon Deutschland), Monitor – Titan Army P2510G 24.5" 1920 x 1080 180 Hz (€180.00) Total: €690.36 Includes shipping, taxes, and discounts. Occasionally updating a local user account is sufficient for Windows to respond more quickly.
