I turned off my router and laptop, then got closer to it. The ping is now over 100 ms. Please assist.

Consider using a wired Ethernet connection first, then upgrade your internet plan for better speed, or move nearer to the server (or select nearby servers).

Connect it. One side connects to the router, the other to the computer.

Ping is more about connection speed than network size. A big bandwidth helps, but it doesn’t replace a quick connection. You should aim for servers nearer to you.

Check out some YouTube tutorials on changing servers for CSGO. You might be on a distant server, and these videos can help you figure it out.

What nation do you reside in? Being distant from Valve's servers limits your options. You can adjust server connections with "mm_dedicated_search_maxping ##" in the console or try the picker tool at http://gamebanana.com/tools/5684 to avoid certain regions.

Connected via Ethernet. I experienced constant 1k pings before switching to Ethernet. Based on your grammar and the style of earlier posts, it seems you're younger.
