Hello, I recently decided to restart my computer, but Windows prompted me to update and said "Getting windows ready. Don't turn off your computer." After an hour, I became concerned because the message stayed unchanged. About six hours later, I kept pressing the power button to shut it down and rebooted, only to see the same warning appear again. It's been 14 hours now. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Yes, you can restore your data by using a recovery tool or backup before uninstalling Windows.

Yes. With two or more drivers (C, D, etc.), format just drive C and the others remain intact. If you have important data on drive C, you can save a backup there, download your files, and reinstall to erase everything.

There is, but I suggest you wait a bit longer and stay patient because sometimes HDD or storage speed affects performance. If you think you've waited long enough, shut it down completely and drain the battery by taking out the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds. Then try restarting it. If that doesn't work, let me know your laptop's brand and model number for more details. Remember, life is short—enjoy the problems.

I faced the same issue and took out the battery, pressed the power button, but now only the HP logo appears. What should I do next?
