It seems your +2 is positioned on the incorrect side of the 6-pin connector. That’s why the two pins on the left appear upside down (the curved part faces opposite directions). This likely prevents it from fitting properly into the card’s connector. Anyone else notice this? They should be easy to detach from the main 6 pin and then reattach so all the small curves point in the same direction.

Certainly possible action exists. Minor tabs on the +2 section should match the 6-pin connector alignment.

that caught my attention when reviewing the photos. it seems to be on the opposite side of the 6-pin connector. however, the original poster hasn't detailed the exact issue, just saying "i noticed a problem." based on what I understand, the likely cause is that the connector doesn't fit properly and the extra two pins are on the wrong side. the 1650 model probably only required a 6-pin connector, so it's possible he added the two pins without getting it right.

Yep, the 6-pin part is standard as I understand. The +2 usually snaps onto either side of the 6 pin, though some models slide and can only go in one direction because the groove is on just one side. I’ve done this a few times before—learning by doing.
