I just assembled a new computer for my girlfriend and here’s what I have:
Processor: Ryzen 1600 overclocked to 3.8 ghz with stock cooler
Motherboard: Tomahawk B350 ATX form factor
Power Supply: New Evga 600w
Graphics Card: EVGA SSC 1050 Ti
RAM: EVGA 16GB at 3000 MHz
We later swapped the 1050 Ti for a 1060 with 6GB SSC.
I own a comparable build using an I5 6600k and an EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC. We tested Valley Benchmark ExtremeHD, but she was around 30 in the lows with minimum frames near 17, while I achieved 60-80 FPS easily.
I made sure the 6 pin+2 connection on her rig matched the 8 pin of the GTX 1060 and replaced the old driver with the latest Nvidia driver. The power plan is set to high performance.
I’m puzzled as to why she’s consistently getting such low FPS. Is there something I’m overlooking? Could there be an issue with the GPU itself?
Any advice would be really helpful.
Thanks.

Steveblizz3034 shared his experience about upgrading from a 1050ti to an Evga 1060 6gb SSC. He mentioned installing drivers initially, but ended up replacing the original with the new one. Despite reinstalling drivers and using identical benchmarks in Valley, he still faced issues. The monitor uses an HDMI to DVI cable, and he wondered if this might affect performance. He suggested checking temperatures via Hardwaremonitor and ensuring the GPU is properly seated in its slot, noting that slower PCIe slots could be a factor.

Hello Steve...
If I got it right, your 1050 TI achieves 60-80 FPS in the benchmark, while the 1060 performs around 17-30?
If that's correct, I'd recheck my benchmark settings again... I wouldn't be able to offer a different explanation than with another benchmark configuration.
Could you be running the 2 or 4k benchmark instead of the 1080p one?

Initially we had a 1050ti with drivers installed but switched it to an Evga 1060 6gb SSC. I removed and then reinstalled the driver without success. Benchmarks in Valley show no difference. Both monitors use the same extremeHD preset at 1080p. The HDMI to DVI cable is connected for the monitor, but does this affect performance?
