when connecting the adapter cable via USB A, it recognizes USB 3; however, plugging directly into a Type C port identifies it as USB 2. The motherboard is a B450 Gaming 2, and I’m absolutely certain the USB Type C here supports at least 3.2.

I don’t have access to that information.

USB 3.0 connection needs specific hardware connections. When I was buying type C to type C cables, the cheap options only offered 2.0 speeds, which was a disappointment.

Kuject cable isn't the top choice, but it works okay for most people.

It identifies as USB 3 on USB A but not on USB C due to differences in port specifications.

I suspect the C ports on your motherboards aren't showing up in Device Manager, and I don't know why or how to resolve it.

the motherboard is an ASUS B450 gaming 2 with a USB C port, but it only shows as USB 2. I need to use it for Quest 2, yet it behaves like USB 2. The issue is the port isn’t listed in Device Manager, and I’m unsure how to resolve it. Any suggestions?

I would examine the motherboard drivers and consider trying the chipset options. Perhaps updating the BIOS is worth a shot. I’m not sure it will fix the issue, but that’s about all I have. This seems odd, but it matches what @Fasauceome mentioned. Edited March 31, 2023 by GorujoCY

The situation makes sense if the USB A cable supports USB 3.0 while the USB C cable only works at USB 2.0 speed. Most USB ports usually don’t appear in Device Manager unless a specific controller is handling multiple devices.
