Hello, I hope this message finds you well. I'm planning to push my I5 2500K further by overclocking it to around 4.3GHz. I'm curious about the safe temperature range at 3.3GHz for that processor. Any advice or insights would be really appreciated.

For that CPU I’d consider anything under 80c suitable for long-term performance. Stress tests usually demand more from the CPU than games, so achieving 85c in a stress test might result in only 75c during gaming with an overclock.

Expect around 4.6-4.8ghz for an OC that maintains efficiency without losing performance, while 5ghz is also possible. The safe operating temperature should match your specific frequency without voltage issues, ideally staying between 1.3-1.35v for top speeds at 100c. Between 1.4-1.5v you’ll likely hit 90-85c max temps, risking voltage instability and instability at higher voltages. For maximum voltage, aim for about 1.5v, but most coolers won’t handle it well above that unless you push it. As for components, DDR3 overclocking is easy, so focus on a compatible motherboard and RAM to support those speeds.

Choose between 2x4 or 1x8. It's easier to flash the BIOS to a P8ZT68 Deluxe since ASUS often damages lower-end boards. You can use a cheap CH341A chip, which also means you won’t have to worry about bricking—just external flash the BIOS. For settings, set CPU voltage to 1.4V, LLC disabled, DRAM voltage to 1.6V, and Clock to 103 MHz. If you share some bios images, I’ll be happy to walk you through it in detail.
