Hello everyone, I really appreciate the surface go 2 design, the form factor, and the type cover. However, Windows 10 doesn't feel as tablet-friendly as Android (even Windows 8.1). I'm interested in using Google apps within dedicated apps instead of through Chrome. I understand people might say I should have picked a Chromebook or an Android tablet, but no—I need Windows too! I've tried emulating Android with Bluestack and similar tools, but these often drain the battery quickly. I attempted to run Android via a liveCD/USB (PrimeOS), which works but has issues like no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Right now, I'm exploring Chromium OS just for fun. There aren't many discussions about alternatives on my request, so I'd like to know if anyone has tried running something other than Windows on Surface Go to experience it fully as a tablet. Thanks! Simon

It's similar to purchasing a MacBook to use Windows. If you prefer Android, opt for an Android Tablet instead of an x86 device built for a full operating system.

You can set up Android using a 64-bit ISO: https://www.fosshub.com/Android-x86.html

For Android enthusiasts, consider Android X86. If you prefer not to use Windows or Linux on a tablet but desire something beyond standard Android, ChromeOS with CloudReady is a good alternative.

Sure, I'm just interested in technology—it's not essential, right?

Just install Fyde OS alongside Windows. it's awesome. Alternatively, you can also dual-boot vanilla Chrome OS using the Brunch project . Both feel way smoother and snappier than Windows, have dedicated tablet mode, full-fledged browser and offer support for linux apps and Android apps
