verify your installation media is intact. search for "ubuntu iso md5 checksum" online.

You might also consider a different flavor of Ubuntu such as Ubuntu Mate. It’s considered one of the top versions available. However, the Mate desktop environment doesn’t match the look and feel of Unity. Still, there are many other Ubuntu-based distributions you can explore. Options include Linux Mint, Linux Lite, Peppermint 7, KDe Neon, Kubuntu, and more. Just download a few ISO images, boot them into live environments, and test which suits your hardware best.
