Hey everyone, I'm currently putting together my latest project. So far it's been quite challenging, but the final test revealed errors on both the CPU and RAM LEDs on the mainboard while fans were running. Despite having experience with reliable computers and servers, I haven't encountered any major problems that I could fix alone. The build I'm working on is here: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/k9cBk9. My troubleshooting attempts so far included: reinserting RAM modules (no change), swapping and reinserting RAM (no change), changing RAM slots to the one not recommended first (no change), verifying CPU installation (triangle aligned correctly, AM5 socket is user-friendly, no change), inspecting each RAM individually (no change), checking for bent pins in sockets (none found), and using multiple DDR4 kits. I don’t have a spare DDR5 kit or an AM5 CPU to test further. Could I resolve any issues before ordering replacement parts? My guess is it’s more likely the board is faulty than either component being defective, since both new parts arrived in good condition. Best regards, Solarleuchte

Reach out to the motherboard maker for their perspective on the product.

You spoke to MSI, they said you can attempt a BIOS flash. Checking the available options next.

UEFI/BIOS upgrade. Some boards might struggle with 32GB DIMMs, so be aware. Do you see a CPU indicator when you attempt to boot without any RAM or just a RAM light?

Without a CPU, RAM, or GPU, the CPU and RAM indicators remain lit, but no additional debug signals appear.

The BIOS on the mainboard needs to be upgraded to version 7D76vA41, the most recent release from MSi support. This is necessary since the feedback from the white LED near the flash button isn’t clear to me.

I’ve understood how to interpret the white falshing LED. The BIOS update was confirmed. After setting up the CPU and adding RAM, both indicators remained active. It seems I’ll need to return the board for replacement.
