I purchased Dragon Age Origins because it was discounted on Steam at five pounds, and a friend suggested it beforehand. After downloading and launching it, I encountered an error stating 'Error initializing PhysX.' A link suggested updating the PhysX drivers, but since my system uses a Radeon 7950, which doesn’t support PhysX, I faced a similar issue with Metro: Last Light. Guides recommended disabling the feature, which resolved the problem. Now I’m reaching out for your assistance to disable PhysX and allow me to play Dragon Age again. -Jack

PhysX can be installed on systems with AMD cards. This simply indicates that PhysX will utilize your CPU instead of the GPU, given the presence of an AMD processor.

It only needs installation, and I can run the game at full capacity on my old Phenom II chip. Your setup should work fine based on your hardware details.

Dragon Age Origins includes Physx. I’ve played it for almost 150 hours and haven’t realized it featured the feature—probably a surprise!

Indeed, the discussion centers on a game released five years ago—if your system has sufficient power, it could still run smoothly.

The mirror's edge is also seven years old, and I achieved about 3 frames per second with my overclocked I7 at 4 GHz when Physx was turned on. It was a challenging stage where you had to evade numerous enemies who kept breaking glass windows.

I've always experienced no problems launching DA:O at maximum performance using an AMD card. I wasn't aware it supported physx. It's a classic title that runs smoothly.
