Hello everyone, I recently upgraded my graphics card (RX 580) and power supply unit, and while I have noticed an improvement compared to my older GT 730, it doesn't quite meet the expectations set by reviews. I’ve conducted some research and utilized UserBenchmark.com, with the results available at https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/14710207. The card performs adequately in older titles but experiences stuttering in more recent or graphically intensive games. Currently, I'm excluding Apex Legends due to frequent hard stutters near the end of the game and occasional crashes. Within Witcher 3, I encounter stutters lasting between 0.5 and 2 seconds approximately every 5-10 seconds, depending on my playtime within the game. I’m hoping for a resolution or at least some optimization to improve its performance. Thank you!

I had success resolving the issue, while attempting to locate XMP settings (which were set to profile 1 and enabled). I reactivated my hyperthreading, and the stuttering stopped. Thank you all!

You likely require an upgraded processor and I recommend adding more RAM. Considering modern games, having 16 GB of memory gives me greater peace of mind. Exploring the i5 or i7 series based on your financial constraints would be wise. Despite experiencing minor pauses in Apex Legends with my FX-9590, I struggle to run Fallout 76 smoothly. However, before implementing this advice, could you share your CPU and RAM usage statistics along with your temperatures while playing these games?

Have you attempted to remove previous NVIDIA drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)? Please also uninstall both outdated NVIDIA and new AMD graphics drivers, then reinstall the newest RX 580 drivers. Furthermore, that processor should be sufficient for your 580 in most current or demanding games.

The analyst indicated my central processing unit was limiting the performance of my graphics card by approximately 10%, despite previously having been constrained by the GPU. Consequently, I tested *The Witcher* with a medium visual setting across both graphics and post-processing effects, achieving a GPU usage of 65% and a CPU usage of roughly 55%. However, when I increased the settings to Ultra for graphics and High for post-processing (while disabling hairworks), my temperatures decreased slightly. The maximum GPU utilization was recorded as 53%, with a corresponding 54% CPU usage, as measured using GPU-Z.

I removed the drivers using DDU in Windows Safe Mode, and I should note that I’m not gaming at 1080p; instead, I’m playing at 1280 x 1024 due to my primary monitor's malfunction (it only had VGA). Consequently, I acquired an older VGA-to-HDMI adapter, which exhibits a dark gray appearance – I don’t believe this negatively impacts performance.

Additionally, I released my processes and achieved improved scores in the user benchmark; however, the Witcher continues to experience stuttering.

Regarding your system’s power source, the freezing issues you're experiencing in The Witcher 3 are likely due to your central processing unit. Here are the game’s official specifications:

Minimum Specifications:
Operating System: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1). DirectX 11 is required for gameplay.
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K (3.3GHz) or AMD Phenom II X4 940. We advise consulting a CPU performance chart and comparing your processor to these minimum specifications.
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870. Note that we only support full-size desktop graphics cards. Referencing an online graphics card comparison chart is recommended.
Memory (RAM): 6GB
Storage Space: 40 GB

The power supply unit is a Sirtec HPQ-500BR-H12S, with an 80+ Bronze certification and a 500-watt capacity. I agree with your assessment regarding the processor; core count is a more significant factor than clock speed.

This could be the issue; it’s a relatively obscure power supply manufacturer, but the only definitive method to confirm this is to test it with an alternative unit.
