I recently upgraded to a 1080 with 8GB of memory, replacing my older GTX 960 2GB card. My computer’s performance has only increased by approximately 20 frames per second, and I've even experienced some frame drops in certain games. I have 8GB of DDR3 RAM and an Intel i5-4460 processor. Does anyone have any insight into why I’m not achieving significantly higher framerates? Thank you for your assistance.

atomicWAR :
Execute Run DDU and re-establish device drivers.

If this resolution doesn’t resolve your problems, examine CPU utilization. If any of your cores are consistently at 80-85% or higher, you probably have a processor constraint. My assessment is that removing the outdated drivers could provide some relief, but you likely also experience a minor limitation. Combined with the older drivers and this small restriction, they may worsen the reduction in your frame rates.
How do I accomplish this?

Your processor may be significantly limiting your system’s performance. Examine CPU utilization to determine if it’s consistently at 100%; if so, your graphics card cannot render additional frames because the central processing unit isn’t providing sufficient data.

Sixteen gigabytes of memory aren't proving beneficial either; many individuals suggest 16GB instead.

Have you removed your previous graphics card drivers and installed the latest version?

Execute DDU to completely remove, then reinstall device drivers.

I suspect removing the outdated drivers will provide some relief, but you likely also experience a minor restriction. Combined with the older drivers and this small constraint, they may contribute to the decrease in your frame rates.

Here’s a revised version of the text:

It’s probably that your processor is limiting your system’s performance. Examine CPU usage to see if it’s consistently at 100%. Your graphics card may not be able to render more frames if the CPU isn't providing sufficient data. If usage is approximately 80%, do you have any suggestions for affordable upgrades?

Here’s a revised version:

First, use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove your existing graphics drivers and then reinstall them. [https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis...nload.html](https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis...nload.html). If this doesn’t resolve the problem, examine your CPU usage. If any of your processor cores are consistently operating at 80-85% or higher, you probably have a CPU limitation. I suspect removing outdated drivers will provide some relief, but there might also be a minor constraint present. Combining these factors could worsen the reduction in your frame rates.

How can I do this?

The additional 8 gigabytes of memory isn't proving beneficial. Many users suggest opting for 16 gigabytes instead. What type of RAM do you recommend, and could you provide an explanation for your suggestion?
