My HP Pavilion laptop has an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, a 940MX graphics card, and 4GB of DDR4 RAM. I am experiencing issues running Grand Theft Auto V, despite content creators with similar hardware achieving 30+ frames per second on ultra settings through tweaks. While I can achieve 30+ FPS with all settings at their lowest, I consistently encounter significant and drastic frame rate drops. Implementing an FPS limiter has been unsuccessful thus far. I am seeking assistance with this problem and appreciate your consideration.

YouTube videos are unreliable due to a lack of transparency regarding Windows and graphics driver optimizations. Software can temporarily disable unnecessary services to improve system resource availability, potentially aiding performance. https://winaero.com is a relevant example. GTA5 would likely perform better with 8GB of RAM, considering Windows already utilizes 2-3GB.

Four gigabytes of RAM is insufficient for running most games beyond Solitaire, in my opinion, irrespective of whether Windows 7 or Windows 10 is being used.

A minimum of 8 gigabytes of RAM is required, with 16 gigabytes strongly recommended.

What frame rate did you set?

Considering a maximum of 30FPS, begin by setting it to 30FPS and then gradually decrease it in small increments.

The fact that YouTubers are playing the game at ultra settings isn’t accidental; those high settings significantly slow down the game enough to mitigate many performance drops.

This occurs because the game’s primary thread is assigned high priority, compelling Windows to prioritize it above all other processes while it’s active.

While you can adjust threads yourself, I strongly advise against this due to Rockstar's strict policies and the risk of being banned, especially when playing online.

Let me gather the necessary tools and create a video demonstrating how to play Battlefield V on an Atari 2600. Terry's suggestion to begin at the 30-minute mark is valid, and it’s important to acknowledge that your system's limited RAM will present a major obstacle alongside other technical constraints.
