Troubleshooting GPU crashes
Hi, I have an RTX 3070 with a Ryzen 5 2600X on a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W power supply. I'm facing GPU crashes during intense gameplay. When demanding games start, the fans become extremely loud, more than usual. Cleaning them didn’t help much since there was almost no dust. The temperature stays relatively stable even when the fans spin faster. Changing the fan curves hasn’t provided consistent improvement. The crashes usually happen when extra noise begins, followed by the screen going dark and the fans running at maximum speed. I suspect either the GPU is failing or the PSU is the problem, as similar issues are reported online. I don’t have another PSU to test, so I’m looking for ways to check the PSU’s condition or identify which component needs replacement.
I don't know anyone who enjoys building PCs. The power supply unit is around five or six years old.
