Online exams are here because university exams... my friend is really concerned his internet might fail since his ISP is unreliable. He’s thinking about connecting his laptop via both Ethernet and Wi-Fi at once—using the Wi-Fi through a hotspot on his phone, which runs on a different network (LTE). Would that protect his connection? Or would it be too slow to switch quickly enough so his MS Teams call stays stable? I could try it, but in theory it might work well enough to keep him connected.

I could just build an unusual grid and merge them so it doesn’t need to fully redirect traffic.

Alright, understood. You could consider using only LTE for the connection if it's crucial.

Also unless he or you has unlimited data that will probably take a huge hit in cost.

Now is the perfect moment to secure a free one-month mobile internet deal. Perhaps someone has tips on preventing all websites except Wi-Fi, while letting Ethernet connections work freely. A device can join two networks simultaneously, but we require greater oversight of data consumption.

20GB each month is available, enough for several tests, definitely fine.

They don’t offer free items. I’m researching software routers to manage traffic and assign various ports to different network devices.

He’s handling that situation, I’m just trying to reduce data usage. His home connection could stay active, which helps save free data. Probably it’s not perfect. If Teams had a way to keep you connected without disconnecting you and letting you stay in the call while reconnecting, that would help. Also, his MS forms might not work right if you switch networks midway through filling them out—still uncertain.
