Troubleshoot RDP login problems with Win Server 2016 on RDP credentials.
Hey everyone, I just set up a new Windows Server 2016 Standard Edition after removing VMWare's ESXI 6.5 on my Dell Poweredge R710. On the RDP setup side, I’m getting errors like “authentication error” and “function not supported.” It seems the issue might be related to CredSSP encryption or something similar. Since I’m no longer using ESXI, I’m trying to figure out why this keeps happening on a physical machine. Can someone help me out? Thanks for your support!
It seems something unusual occurred to me recently. I connected using a device that didn't have the latest update.
It depends on what you're trying to fix. If it's a software issue, your personal computer might need an update. If it's related to the server, a Windows update for the server is likely required. Check the documentation for specifics.
It was a patch issued in March. It must be applied on the server. You can modify the computer's registry using these steps: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\CredSSP\Parameters Add a DWORD value of 2: “AllowEncryptionOracle”. Ideally, perform regular server updates as part of routine maintenance.
