It's really tough to assist with limited details. You'll need to reinstall or restart everything properly since the installer isn't working. If you want a setup similar to Steam Deck, try using Bazzite OS and choose the Steam Deck image on the download page. After installing, go to your desktop first, then the second boot will start Steam. This might make the process smoother for you.
