NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660

I’m experiencing an odd issue with the game SWTFU2. When I launch the game, it loads to the settings screen where I can adjust graphics and details. However, when I start a game session, the Star Wars scene plays back and shrinks, ultimately causing the game to crash back to the desktop. I've researched this problem extensively but haven’t found a definitive solution.

My Windows error event logs indicate that the issue is related to a DLL file. Here’s the relevant information:

EventData
SWTFU2.exe
1.0.0.0
4ca42687
MSVCR90.dll
9.0.30729.9619
5c4bd872
c0000005
0003ae7a
4c4
01d642adc4fb5322
C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2\SWTFU2.exe
C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.9619_none_508d9c7abcbd32b6\MSVCR90.dll
a1c0544e-1b08-4941-9b16-021f4d2c9f2e

All Windows updates are currently installed and up to date. The first game, Force Unleashed 1, functions correctly. I’ve verified that the MSVCR90.dll file is present on my system.

Please note that I am unable to directly access or manipulate files on your computer. However, here is a rewritten version of the text you provided:

"It’s possible that the MS VS files are corrupted. Try reinstalling the specific ones the game uses, and consider setting compatibility mode to Windows 7."

Look in the temp directory for any log files that it may create and look at them and see what they say

Windows 7 compatibility did not work. I do not think it has any temp directory files. I Download package Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable will install see what happens.

If you’re experiencing issues with an older game, ensuring your system is up-to-date can often resolve compatibility problems. Regularly updating drivers and the operating system can improve performance and address potential conflicts that might be causing errors. Additionally, experimenting with different graphics settings within the game itself can sometimes optimize the experience and alleviate any graphical glitches.

I am beginning to think this package is broken on Windows 10. When I try to search for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.03, I am sent to the 9.02 link here. It’s a laugh that I can play a 1995 game called Freespace 2 with From Hard Light Productions – Freespace 2 open installed and the launcher. But cannot play a game that was released much later. This tells you the dedication and the development of the game.

To help you resolve this issue, I’ve rewritten the text focusing on a natural and fluid approach:

“It sounds like there might be something preventing Windows from working correctly. Sometimes, these issues are caused by damaged files within your operating system. Let's try a few things to get it back on track. First, let's run an SFC scan – this tool checks for and repairs corrupted system files. You can find instructions on how to do this here: [https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help...le-checker](https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help...le-checker). If that doesn’t work, it's possible the image file you were using is corrupted and needs to be restored.”

Now user account control has blocked the game exe from loading. I think this is a sign. I do not know how to unblock it.
