Trouble with boosting 8320 to 4.2ghz!
Computer specifications were shared earlier. Now, regarding the CPU overclocking, the process was quite new for me. I had watched several tutorials and read discussions before attempting this. Initially, all fans ran at 50% speed. I raised the CPU frequency to 21 (4.2ghz) but found the motherboard voltage control unusual. I tried setting it to 1.300 volts just to test stability. The initial boot showed a voltage of around 1.7 volts with temperatures at 70°C and loud fans. I stopped the system right away. After lowering the voltage to a safe level of about 1.400 volts, temperatures dropped and everything seemed normal. Running Prime95 for over ten seconds showed no crashes. I then reduced the multiplier to 20 (4.0ghz) and it ran smoothly for about 30 minutes. Further adjustments brought it back to 1.300 volts without issues. The OC Genie was still active, causing noise, so I disabled it temporarily. After turning everything off and restarting, the fans returned to normal operation. I considered resetting the BIOS or removing the CMOS battery, but decided not to proceed at this stage.
