Trouble over clocking
Trouble over clocking
I conducted thorough research on overclocking. I understand the steps involved.
I own an Intel Pentium G3258 Anniversary edition. The motherboard I selected was the MSI B85M-E45.
I attempted to use the OC Genie 4 software and it only maintained the normal clock speed of 3.2ghz.
The system does not boot into Windows even when overclocked slightly.
I discovered that my motherboard doesn’t support overclocking with this CPU without a custom cooler.
I prefer not to purchase another CPU since I want to maximize the value of my current one.
Any advice on what to do?
Start by avoiding using a stock cooler with your CPU—it could damage it. Skip any software that tries to overclock it; it’s not reliable and you should stick to your BIOS. A B85M model typically includes a reasonably accessible overclocking setting within the BIOS.
