Kaspersky discovered something unusual in the Firefox cache directory. It seems this malware isn't a typical threat but rather a stealer or dropper. I haven’t used Firefox much beyond Facebook, and my scan results show it’s not linked to piracy sites. My browser settings include Kaspersky extensions and U Block, and there’s a BIOS password protecting the system. The file was located in a specific profile folder, and a Virustotal analysis is available via the provided link.

It could have been set up using another extension. If it's written in JavaScript, it likely needs to run through a browser program and might be a keylogger. Delete all files from the Firefox user profile—extensions, caches, folders—and reinstall the browser without any suspicious add-ons. Be cautious about the uBlock you choose, as some aren't genuine. I'm also unsure about trusting Kaspersky, as they're connected to a Russian individual with ties to Russian intelligence.

Only extensions such as I mentioned—UBlock Origin (The Original) and Kaspersky—were safe to use. I removed all Firefox files from the app and uninstalled it completely. I rely on antivirus software based on ratings rather than popularity among users. Between Kaspersky and Bitdefender, I went with Kaspersky due to its better performance in terms of system resource usage.
