I encountered a Trojan named Ghanarava repeatedly during full system scans. My quick antivirus repeatedly detected it but didn’t remove it effectively. Sometimes the scan shows no threats, only later when I run a full scan does it reappear. There’s limited information online about this specific malware, so I’m looking for a way to eliminate it permanently. If you’re asking where it appears, it’s consistently present in my Steam files. Please let me know how to get rid of this persistent threat.
could be a file from a game you use, and each time you run it your antivirus flags it as malicious
I'll attempt to uninstall Steam, delete all associated files, and then reinstall it using my games. I'll let you know how it goes.
Occasionally games provide unusual file names; they might indicate a trojan since it believes it’s safe, but it isn’t. This has happened with trusted apps too.
I've removed Steam and am about to reinstall it. It seems my PC felt quicker before Steam was installed, even though there were some issues with it.
It's likely any antivirus software will block it, plus with security measures like secure boot, TPM, and VBS it'll become much more difficult
Occasionally security software struggles with complex issues. I’d opt for a full system reinstall just to be safe.
I considered that as an option, I'm trying to reinstall Steam. If that fails, I'll have to unfortunately reinstall the operating system.
