Coming from someone who uses 3K ultra-wide displays at 144Hz, this kind of game is really disappointing no matter what it's called. The scaling distortion around the edges is terrible, and crashes happen often. It gives a really frustrating experience overall.

Modern multiplayer titles haven't adopted this approach until ultra-wide or dual 1080p became common, which can create an uneven playing field. BF4 had some compatibility with browser/tablet maps, but it only displayed identical content to the spectator view—offering minimal real benefit. I believe older games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Supreme Commander 2 were the ones that supported such setups before.
