I'm not familiar with the setup, but will the Gtx 1070 support running a triple monitor with the Dell S2716DG if it only has two DP, two HDMI 2.0 and DVI-D ports? Should I consider using a converter from DP to DVI-D?

You can link two of your Dell S2716DG monitors via the DP connector, while the final monitor connects through the HDMI port on your GPU. The third monitor can be powered using an HDMI 2.0 cable originating from your GPU.
