when i turn on the preinstalled XMP setting the pc doesn't boot but just makes a few beeps before shutting down. i'm trying to achieve the 3000mhz speed instead of it constantly running at 2133. my system includes an ab350 gaming 3 motherboard, an amd ryzen 1600 @ 3.8ghz, a gtx 1070 founders edition and g skill trident z ram rated at 3000mhz.

Do you possess the most recent BIOS? What is the specification of the RAM? Activate XMP, subsequently reduce the DRAM speed until the device initializes correctly.

There are issues with most 3000mhz ram on Ryzen systems initially. Timings should be increased to around 18-18-18-46-60. A 3.8GHz speed is acceptable, but 3.7GHz would be even better since you can lower CPU voltage under Stock. Both timing and frequency will increase, resulting in less power consumption, noise, and temperature compared to the extra 2.5% CPU speed gain or 2-4 extra frames per second in games. Also, keep RAM timings very high. Ultimately, you won’t get much benefit. I usually prioritize RAM timing and voltage when doing overclocking. For example, with a TridenzZ 3200, the Ryzen/Trident sweetspot on stock Volt is 2966Hz (even up to 3066 on these 3200 units), which is quite high. My 24/OC settings are 3.7GHz-1.244V, 2966Hz, 1.35V, with timings 14-14-14-30-52. CineB is 1250, and the earlier setting 14-13-13-30-52 was slower. Also, remove any RGB software until a new BIOS update is released.

I use 32GB of TridentZ on a Ryzen machine at 3200 14 14 14 34 with 1.35v after the newest BIOS release, and everything works perfectly without any problems. The only times I adjust RAM voltage or SOC voltage are when I push the CPU beyond 3.9.

I'm disappointed with the trizzent F4 3200C16D-GTZ, no Samsung B-die, but I hope a new BIOS update will help.
