I improved my PC to an AM5 model (Ryzen 7 7800X3D, g.skill Trident 32GB 6400, ROG Strix B650e-f, RTX 4090). The 4090 and two SSDs were moved from my previous motherboard to the new one. I’m stuck on the Windows setup because my PC can’t connect to Wi-Fi. I think it’s related to drivers, but I don’t know what to do. I can only open Command Prompt. It’s a fresh Windows install and my BIOS is current. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. (Note: Ethernet also isn’t working.)

That's why you connect an Ethernet cable to your PC. Doing PC gaming over Wi-Fi is like playing tennis with a pool noodle. However, if you must, you can always detach the cable later.

Ethernet isn’t functioning either; I expected Wi-Fi to work for setup and driver installation. If that’s the issue.

Have you explored sharing your experience on the Microsoft Forums? I resolved a Windows setup issue on my Dell laptop with help from a forum member.

I believe I might have resolved it, but testing is still pending. I'll mark it as solved once everything works.

Better then also tell us the solution, so anyone else can use the same to fix it.

Sorry, I made a few mistakes while trying to get this setup right. The issue started when I bought an Intel XMP DDR5 RAM, which caused instability with the overclocking feature. This led to crashes during boot or reinstallation. Another problem was that Windows wouldn’t install Wi-Fi or other drivers, including Bluetooth. Without these drivers, setting up my account in Windows became impossible. I resolved it by adjusting RAM speed and installing drivers during setup when prompted to choose the boot drive. A helpful tip: always use multiple USB drives, as they were essential for getting my PC running. (Note: I just wanted to remind myself never to turn Intel XMP or AMD Expo on during installation or a BIOS flash, as I accidentally did that and caused serious issues.)

I understand, I just reinstalled Windows to resolve the problem, but I'm happy the issue was fixed.
