Browser, version and operating system: windows 10 unknown, version unspecified.
How it happened: First time rendering a Blender animation project overnight.
What occurred: Woke up to a login screen similar to the ROG logo startup. When powering on, sometimes auto-repair appears but nothing happens; left it running for about 40 minutes.
Expected outcome: Boot into Windows.
Additional notes: CMOS cleared, no further issues, same problem when attempting to boot into the Windows Media Creation Tool.

It might be related to the motherboard. The board seems fine, but the recovery drive still fails to boot. It doesn’t look like the SSD is the issue.

I retried, but it still froze during the automatic repair stage and didn’t enter recovery mode. Sorry if that was incorrect.

I faced the same issue with my Asus laptop before. The problem was usually with the SSD. If you try booting from another drive, it might resolve the issue.

You’re likely to receive an SSD over the weekend. It might also connect to the Armory crate update you made earlier today.

This behavior seems unusual and might indicate a hardware problem. Checking if the crash occurs when connecting your SSD is a good first step—disconnecting it could confirm the issue. If the crash persists, it may point to a BIOS or configuration error. Try booting from a Linux USB to see if it functions, which would help identify whether the problem lies with the OS or the hardware.

I haven’t spent much time fixing this PC, but I reset the BIOS settings and still didn’t succeed. I plan to remove the M.2 slot when I have more time. Would you consider flashing a newer BIOS version? I’m currently running ASUS B550-F with version 2423.

It might be possible; I’d suggest trying it, though we can’t be sure it will fully resolve the issue since we still lack a clear understanding of the situation.
