Hey! I attempted to upgrade my PC to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 using an 8.1 ISO and the Windows 8 key, but it didn’t work. Then I downloaded the update from the store, which succeeded. However, when downloading from the store, everything gets reinstalled. Do you know if there’s a way to perform a clean install directly from the store? Thanks!

Save your data before proceeding with the installation. Follow the steps carefully to ensure a successful setup.

Microsoft chose its infinite knowledge to say an 8-key won’t work on an 8.1 even though it’s just a service pack. You must perform a clean install of 8 first, then upgrade via the store. There’s no direct way to do it directly, so you’re left with what Rashy mentioned.
