Transitioning to 5600x resolution
The Ryzen 5 5600X is now available at MSRP, and I’m likely going to buy one. Beforehand, check compatibility and BIOS settings—your GIGABYTE B450 AORUS M seems to work, but you’ll need to follow the correct update procedure. Updating the BIOS can disable support for older processors, so plan accordingly.
It doesn't always halt support for older chips; it seems to vary by board. Update the BIOS to the compatible version and then add the CPU. It should be straightforward—don't assume the Aorus M needs a flashback, just stick with your existing CPU.
