Hey there, I've been a Windows gamer since the launch of Windows XP, but Windows 10 is presenting some challenges for me. That's why I'm considering moving to Linux. It offers a sleek design and isn't entirely unsuitable for gaming compared to Mac OS. The main issue I face is that my Linux setup from two years ago didn't perform well for gaming. Recently, I've read that Linux has made significant improvements and is now a more solid option for gaming. What do you think? I rely heavily on MS Office, play games like League of Legends, Brawlhalla, Warframe, and a few others. I own a mid-range gaming PC with a Ryzen 5 1600 AF and an RX 570. Will I encounter any difficulties running games smoothly on Linux? I'm torn—some aspects still give me concerns. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most cases? So one is different? I mean everything runs smoothly with the same FPS, right? Thanks for your reply.

I'm not a Linux game database! Just search for the game you're interested in.

Based on your comments, it’s best to continue using Windows. Generally, if a program claims compatibility with Linux, you probably won’t see any issues. If not, you may need to use Wine, though it can sometimes cause problems. Microsoft Office doesn’t function well in Wine due to unclear error messages. Regarding the games, none of the three listed by OP have an official Linux release. On WineHQ, most reviews are very negative. Brawlhalla received a "Platinum" rating but only once, which doesn’t meet my expectations for reliability.

For games, look into ProtonDB and Lutris instead of Wine HQ

It might continue to work in Wine eventually.

We must clarify whether OP is spending a lot of time configuring these systems. (Don't pretend everything runs smoothly; it definitely doesn't.) I recommend OP doesn't switch their main PC to Linux right away. Use an older machine or a budget Raspberry Pi, and familiarize yourself with Linux before attempting to run games there. Otherwise, you'll end up with a lot of frustration. If after some experimentation you still wish to switch, it might be worthwhile.
