Hi everyone, I actually thought about upgrading to a 5800x but it seems like a bad move. I have a 4-core 4790k at 4.5 GHz and plan to stick with it. I’m curious if switching to a 5600x would make sense... I’ll likely pair it with a 3070 or 3080, depending on what’s stocked. Since my 4790k might struggle with the GPU workload at 1080p, your thoughts would be appreciated.

It will be significant. Many modern titles support 3070, 3080 or 2080Ti+ 4790K configurations and struggle to fully utilize the GPU's potential in many cases. Simply running the game without additional workloads often leads to suboptimal performance, especially at higher resolutions like 4K compared to 1440p. Most users run multiple applications simultaneously, which increases threads and IPC, improving efficiency. Personally, I prefer a 4790K with a 4.8Ghz clock speed paired with a 5900x display, as 5800x offers little value compared to newer options or previous models.
