Your build from 2019 is solid with the components you listed. The minor issues you're facing might be due to compatibility or performance tweaks rather than major hardware changes. Upgrading to Gen 4 PCIe, DDR5, or a newer CPU could help, but it depends on your budget and goals. Switching to a small form factor like MATX is feasible if you keep the PSU, SSDs, and cooling options. Adding a cooler or a new GPU would depend on your playstyle—if you want more performance for those 3 games with triple-digit frames, it might be worth considering. Just make sure the motherboard supports the changes you plan.

I'm using a nearly matching setup and don't play anything needing an upgrade. Unless you have a real need for new hardware, higher specs aren't necessary. Switching to SFF is a solid reason to start fresh! In my opinion, if things are smooth now, I'll wait until I require more power.

For SFF builds, opt for AM5 with Zen 4 or Intel S1700 paired with 13th or 14th generation chips. That’s what I think. If you prefer a stable platform, stick with the 5800X3D all the time.

SFF isn't related to upgrading. It's just a minor adjustment in size or format. For real upgrades, check if your device meets your requirements. If it does, you're good. Let us know if you'd like to invest.

Sure, there’s not much I require in upgraded specs. The issue is I don’t anticipate needing them anytime soon. I’m playing fewer games now. SFF really draws me in. I guess that’s the point—I just want a project. I’ve been focusing on minimalism lately.

Want to create a PC? Go ahead and start building one. If you can afford it, enjoy the process!

Switching to SFF is simply a preference change. It means getting a fresh controller and case. Your decision on whether it’s worthwhile is up to you!
