I believe this might be a bit overcomplicated. Here’s what you should consider: If you want to reset everything on your old Windows 10 PC and switch directly to Windows 11 without losing access, you’ll need to follow specific steps. Upgrading the license isn’t automatic—your current license won’t automatically recognize the new OS unless you reinstall it properly. You may need to use tools like Windows Update or a licensed installation media to transfer your settings. If you’re unsure, it’s safer to back up important data first and then proceed with the upgrade process carefully.

Linking your Microsoft account to the Windows install on Windows 10 should function properly during the new Windows 11 setup. However, using a tool such as @Tan3l6 is recommended for backup purposes.

If your Windows license is tied to a digital key, inserting the Win 11 USB stick into your PC and booting from it should work. Select install and proceed through the setup without needing a physical key. Once logged in with your existing credentials, the installation will activate automatically. To view your current activation status, navigate to Settings > System > Activation.
