Hey everyone, so my uncle has a bunch of VHS tapes he wants to turn into video. I thought about using Elgato or Avermedia as a solution? Are there any devices that not only provide HD but also support composite video and come with the right cables or adapters? He’s planning to use it for SD now but might switch to HD later. Of course, availability in the UK is important! Thanks all! 😊

HD and VHS don’t fit together well in the same sentence. Besides that, any VHS player that outputs both video and RCA, along with a capture card or a more advanced converter, works fine. You can locate special converters from brands like Magix on Amazon. For improving VHS quality to near 720p, you’d need professional equipment. Yeah, there were some VHS-to-DVD converters made a few years back. I’m not sure if they’re still available new. My dad owns one that’s quite solid, from Sony.
