Windows 10 is now available, but if you're looking for a free upgrade, you'll need to upgrade first before trying a clean install. My concerns are about what happens after your key is converted into a Windows 10 key. (A) Can you reinstall the original OS using that same key? Will it work properly to activate it, or has it become permanently tied to Windows 10? (B) After converting a key to Windows 10, can you use it on another machine to set up Windows 10? This seems to limit it to one device, especially since your Microsoft account lists each device with a Windows 10 key and it feels like it’s bound to that system. It’s also stored in a way that makes a clean install unnecessary.
