On macOS, you can delete existing partitions by using Disk Utility. Select the drive, go to the "Erase" tab, and choose a format that combines the partitions into one. This will remove both partitions at once, letting you keep the data while merging them. The greyed-out option is for individual partitions, so using the combined format avoids losing anything.
Open View, locate the partitions like Show all Partitions, then remove them. It seems Apple intentionally concealed the partitions by default.
I managed to complete the task using terminal. By removing the partitions that way, I got the chance to delete them via disk utility, then wiped and reformatted the drive—everything is set now. Your approach will be appreciated; it’s much simpler without having to search for commands online. Thanks!
