The improvement in quality doesn’t happen automatically when increasing bitrate. You need to obtain files with higher bitrates before expecting better results.
As ZetZet mentioned, you'd be analyzing data that already lacks information because of a reduced sampling frequency.
You cannot enhance the quality of a source file. Only downgrade or reduce resolution is possible, not improve it further. For example, converting a FLAC file to 320kbps MP3 works, but reversing that process keeps the same quality. You end up with a bigger file without any real benefit.
I am not saying that one is higher quality or more compatible. You just said " There is no difference between .flac and .mp3"
