I tried it with a standard UEFI image, but it still worked. That’s unusual since the board seems to lack UEFI support. Make sure you’re using the correct BIOS settings for your Supermicro model.

It seems the UEFI setting isn't available in the boot options. Consider using a Windows 10 x64 pendrive that's prepared for EFI booting, including an ISO file and Rufus 2.16.

yup, no mention at all of UEFI in the BIOS or boot menu, and the machine can not boot a GPT/EFI windows installer USB, but it can boot an installed UEFI OS ?? the fuck is this ?

Are you certain the operating system was set up in complete EFI mode, rather than Legacy or CSM?

The motherboard features a supported EFI version that isn't UEFI, or a partial-EFI setup designed to allow larger HDDs and partitions to boot while remaining in BIOS mode. My Gigabyte board has this configuration, but I can turn it off if needed. In my experience, this approach can slow down the boot process, though some users managed better results.

The guide doesn't contain details about this feature. It seems the board was designed for 3TB drives and partition booting at that time. If the drive uses GPT, the setting should be active and can't be turned off.

I think I might have solved it—I believe the operating system I tried to boot on that device was running in UEFI/CSM mode, while the test installer USB only created a GPT file. It looks like this board can't boot UEFI but does support CSM (that makes sense).
