Transferring your GPU to a different PCI-E connector?
Hello everyone, I'm checking if my Asus B450M TUF Gaming Plus with an RTX 2070 Super is still using the right PCI E slot. I'm not sure about everything, but I saw a reference suggesting moving the GPU to a different slot for testing on a possibly damaged one. Would that be fine? I just want to confirm it will still work, especially since I only have two GPUs and my board is a mATX model with considerations for lanes and bandwidth.
the bottom has an x8 shape and you won’t see any variation in performance across the slots.
It won't significantly impact performance if you're only testing. Running games at high settings and 1440p usually shows about a 5 to 6 frame difference on average.
