I’ve got Windows 10 Pro, the newest version, and I purchased the license from kingpenguin.com. My 500 GB SATA SSD is connected and functioning properly. All important files have been moved elsewhere, so I’m wondering how to copy just the Windows installation files to my SSD without moving anything else.

Which SSD are you using? The manufacturer might offer a cloning solution (such as Samsung). You might also need to purchase a new key, though that should work after transferring it to the SSD.

The optimal approach is to perform a full system reset by installing Windows 10 on a new SSD, followed by transferring your data files like documents and photos. Upgrading to a new SSD offers significantly better performance compared to cloning or moving your files to the new drive.

You started from an Ubuntu Live environment and linked both HDDs and a cloned drive. It worked fine so far. For activation, you can call the support line and mention you swapped the HDD while needing Windows activation.
