Changed the network settings entirely, started fresh with default options, but encountered an Avahi issue right away. Currently online, yet experiencing odd behavior with Firefox—tabs crash when open, but Chromium runs smoothly otherwise.

No network problems detected. Just confirmed the GPU driver was installed and checked if hardware acceleration is turned on in Firefox.

Firefox will apply the recommended performance configuration unless you opt out, which would make hardware acceleration available by default. Chromium also uses hardware acceleration by default. Your GPU model is R9 390 and you have 8GB of RAM.
